An experienced triathlete, Jerome Rusak takes the same approach with clients that he does to an Ironman: rigor, dedication, all-around professionalism, and a bit of craziness.


Client surveys

Jerome is a renowned expert in client satisfaction surveys, and market surveys in general, for professional services firms. He authored the highly-praised book Etudes de marché et développement clients (Market surveys and client development, how professional services firms use surveys for business development purposeEditions EMS, 2014). Jerome has conducted numerous satisfaction surveys, market surveys and barometers (including the French IP Barometer) for clients. He has also headed Day One market surveys in the professional services industry. Examples of these surveys include “Lateral activity Barometer within the French law market” since 2006, “Benchmark of legal departments“, “Valuation criteria for professional services firms“, “Opportunity for non-lawyer investors to own equity in law firms“, and “CFO expectations regarding accounting and financial advisory firms”. Professional Services firms and corporate functions

Jerome advises professional services firms in defining their strategy and in aligning their organization with their strategy. He frequently contributes to seminars for partners.

His in-depth knowledge of professional firms has led him to advise numerous corporate functions such as legal, tax, internal audit and compliance functions, since they often face very similar issues as external firms, like positioning and valuing the function, dealing with clients (internal), managing human assets, optimizing knowledge, and improving organization.

Jerome regularly advises corporate functions for audit, reorganization and digital transformation, as well as project management training. He frequently contributes to corporate function seminars.

Jerome is a guest lecturer at Grenoble Graduate School of Business, where he designed and teaches the “Strategy of a Consulting Firm” course ;  he is also a guest lecturer at HEAD (Hautes Etudes Appliquées du Droit), where he designed and teaches the “Strategy and Legal” and “Legal Project Management” courses.



He regularly moderates professional conferences such as Consero’s European General Counsel Forum in London, AFJE’s (French member of the ECLA) annual forum, Option Finance’s M&A summit, the annual IP Barometer conference, and more. He also frequently participates in round tables in professional conferences and summits (LJA’s Carré Live, ECF annual conference, etc.).

In his spare time, Jerome thoroughly enjoys producing appreciated thought leadership pieces: he co-authored La nécessaire transformation des cabinets d’avocats (The necessary transformation of law firms, Editions LJA Wolters Kluwer, 2014). In addition to frequently publishing articles such as “Le CAC gardien incompris de la galaxie” (DAF Magazine), monthly legal management chronicles (La Lettre des Juristes d’Affaires), “Nouveau contexte stratégique : comment aligner la direction juridique” (Option Droit & Affaires), Jerome is regularly interviewed by French financial and legal media such as Les Echos, La Lettre des Juristes d’Affaires, Option Droit & Affaires, Le Nouvel Economiste, l’AGEFI, and more.
